Sled Song
04:21
|
|||
In the ice and snow he came along, without a name.
He was traveling along the tundra. His spirit was on fire.
It was nice to see some upturned lips: ice is full of frowns.
C'mon and help me out man: I think I'm starting to drown.
Here was a man who hadn't anything to show.
No roof over his head protecting from the snow.
There was a dream of something more to life, but when awake he knew this reality was right.
Making our way across an endless sea of white.
No conversation could drown out the blinding light.
My frugal no whiskey wine or beer: out of emptiness there is no thing to fear.
Jesus, Mohammed and the others fall in line: they're clamoring to emulate this friend of mine.

Still Alive
06:09
|
|||
Shouting high from the seventh story,
he surmises the fallen glory.
Gets ready to go, gone away as a dream.
Careful not to awaken neighbors,
lest the sunrise confess suspicion.
Walking away, the night is his day.
Walking on his tiptoes, darting eyeballs left and right.
He shakes when he can't take it.
Slithering across the snow one Sunday,
Making trips to see Sedna daily,
Gets ready to go, gone away as a dream.
Advertising his age old secret, isn't anything silver about him,
foxy or not. Light pours out of his house.
Such a moon our man and Tupilak begin to sing.
Tupilak to man: haven't I seen you here?
Making trips to see Sedna daily?
Licking his lips, our man will suffer from trips.
Moon is mine, T, alone I work here.
Selflessness is my only virtue.
foxy or not, Light pours out of his house.
Such a moon our man and Tupilak begin to sing.
Still alive on this August evening.
Journey's end, as the water's stillness.

Chasing Opportunity
05:01
|
|||
There comes a time in every young man's life
Chasin opportunity, kids and a wife.
My ego is tellin me that I gotta keep on, but I'm runnin outa gas.
I should have stayed behind, should not have come out.
The babies were wailing, wife did scream and shout.
My boot are weighed down in a glacial doubt, and I'm runnin outa gas.
Destination (got to keep on to my) Destination
I can see a shape in the distance.
Not as white as white has been today.
Keep on keepin on Keep on keepin on.
Tell me its the end.
Katyukayaguk? or Tunnituyagruk?
Ptarmigan runnin as fast as they can across the tundra.
Tornarssuk or Angiut?
Ptarmigan runnin as fast as they can across the tundra.
My feet are dancin as fast as they can across the tundra,
but I'm runnin outa gas.
Destination (got to keep on to my) Destination

Twin Escalators
07:31
|
|||
The architecture was new to me, unlike anything I'd ever seen
As soft as pillows, and as warm inside
Twin Escalators to explore the ice
There was a rocket sled above, marooned
Intended certainly to reach the moon
Some subatomic thing had crossed the years
And led the occupants between the ears
There are words to classify the quality of his movements across the ice
So, sliding down below the atmosphere, I had feeling there was purpose here
Steered by a vision of a future time.
Where chaos ruled them: we would organize.
Surveying strangers pointed and explored.
They were the strangers here, we tried to ignore them.
The biggest one reached out his hand to me.
And we had cinched the deal - we didn't know what would follow.
Hey: your friends are all aboard, travelling through this kindness.
